Our first season of container gardening has been a huge success!
In the spring, our 7/8 Gardening Exploratory students built boxes and planted vegetables and herbs; during the summer, volunteers from the community helped water and care for the crops in exchange for some of the bounty; and this fall's 7/8 Gardening Exploratory students have been making fresh salsa, drying herbs for later in the year, and collecting food waste from classrooms to enrich the soil with compost for next season.
Thank you to Mme Meghan, our energetic and engaged students, and the many businesses and community members who have been involved in this amazing full-circle Thanksgiving harvest project.
